PRA follows the Douglas County School District weather schedule. If Douglas County has a delayed start or closes due to snow or other weather, so does Platte River Academy. CLICK HERE for Weather Delay information on the “Parents Page” of the Douglas County School District website.
On a delayed schedule, school will start NINETY MINUTES later (9:45am) than the normal start time, but dismissal will remain the same, 3:15pm. Any schedule change announcements will be provided to local television and radio stations. Only exceptions to normal school schedules will be announced. Watch for area closings under the following headings: Douglas County North Area Schools, when ALL schools in the District are closed due to severe weather. If Douglas County Schools are not mentioned, Platte River Academy is operating on a regular schedule.
When there is an exception to normal schedules, announcements will be made as early as possible on local television and radio:
