Election Details


  • The three candidates above are running for two open seats on the PRA Governing Board. Please checkout their bios and video interviews.
  • Elections will be held Monday, April 22nd - Sunday, April 28th.
  • Parents, please stay tuned to your email for voting information and instructions. Every PRA parent/guardian is eligible to vote in the election.
  • New board members will be announced by Thursday, May 2nd.
  • New board members will be formally seated on the board during the June 6th Governing Board meeting.



From the Platte River Academy By-laws:


Section 4.2. Election of Governing Board.


There shall be a minimum of five (5) Governing Board members who are parents of a student or students at Platte River Academy at the time of election (Parent Board Members). All seven members of the governing board may be Parent Board Members at the time of election. Two members of the governing board may be any person of legal age (Open Board Members). Once a person is elected as an Open Board Member his/her status does not change during his/her term. An Open Board Member may be elected as a Parent Board Member in a future election. No more than one person from each family may serve on the Governing Board at any time. No person shall be eligible for election or appointment as either a Parent Board Member or an Open Board Member if, at the time of the election or appointment, that person or any member of that person's Immediate Family is employed in a paid position at Platte River Academy by either Platte River Academy or the Douglas County School District. As used herein, Immediate Family means spouse, child, stepchild, parent, grandparent, siblings, and in- laws. Elections for seats on the Board of Governors shall be held annually during the fourth quarter of each school year, as set by the Governing Board.
