Welcome to Platte River Academy! We are a public school of choice in the Douglas County School District. You will see, as you read the many links and pages on this website, that this school was not started with a “business as usual” idea or model. Our school was started to rewrite the rulebook and to extend the boundaries of the “possible.” We have had a magnificent strategy and it has worked brilliantly for over 18 years. We are very committed to continuing the school’s success and progress.
PRA is a charter school that has earned many prestigious awards, including the John Irwin School of Excellence Award (every year since 2001) and the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. These are some incredible honors and they showcase all of the care, love, and hard work that has gone into this school.Click here for full article...
The costume donation sale will be held at the front lobby on Monday September 30, 2013 and Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 8-9am and 3-5pm. We are still in need of 50 more costumes, so please consider donating one costume or dress up outfit (ballet outfit, cowboy boots etc) per family. For every costume you donate, you earn one raffle entry. Donate more costumes and earn more raffle entries!!
All costumes must be delivered on a wire hanger with the size safety pinned to it. Loose accessories must be bagged and attached to the costume! All funds raised will be used to offset incidental costs associated with the Jog-a-thon, such as a medic, a DJ, etc. *Costumes not sold will be donated to Warren Village a housing development for low income single parent families. Please contact email@example.com with any questions that you may have regarding the costume sale.

It has become a tradition that Platte River Academy shows up on the top of the list when compared to district and state averages relative to achievement, and our students’ performance in 2013 is no exception. In fact, in several categories, PRA students held the first, second, or third place when ranked against other students at the same level in the district in the areas of reading, writing, math, and science. Parents will be able to see their child‘s performance when individual TCAP score reports are mailed home next week.
